DURATION OF LESSON

Usually half an hour per week to start with. As the student becomes more advanced, ¾ of an hour or 1 hour is needed, particularly if theory is included.

FEES

Please call Mary on (02) 4782 5517 for current fees.  Fees are usually paid a term in advance, or a half-term in advance. The term is usually 10 weeks, similar to the public school terms.  There are no lessons on public holidays or in school holidays. 

LOCATION OF LESSONS

Mary’s studio is located at her home at 2/157 Lurline Street Katoomba.  The entrance is the 2^nd door down the driveway. 

AGES TAUGHT

Any age, five years old and above.

STYLE OF MUSIC

Pieces are generally a mixture of classical and popular styles. Students’ preferences are taken into consideration.

SYLLABUS

Beginners usually begin with a basic piano course appropriate to their age level.  This is usually supplemented with a number of other well known songs.  Music theory is also included in the lesson.  When the student is ready, they can choose to prepare for AMEB exams.  Exams are not compulsory, but are encouraged if the student is interested.  Students can also be prepared for Theory or Musicianship exams.
